Cardinal Dziwisz and Rabbi Rosen at Interreligious Conference Honouring S. Musial SJ - 6 March 2009

Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz, the Archbishop of Krakow and Rabbi David Rosen, the International Director of Interreligious Affairs of the American Jewish Committee, were the keynote speakers at the interreligious conference honouring the late Fr Stanisław Musiał SJ, a Polish pioneer of the Catholic-Jewish dialogue. Cardinal Dziwisz and Rabbi Rosen delivered substantial addresses on the hopes and difficulties encountered in the Catholic-Jewish dialogue. The conference organized by the Jesuit Center for Culture and Dialogue and the Krakow Club of Christians and Jews took place at the Jesuit University College ‘Ignatianum’ at Kopernika Street in Krakow where Fr Musial spent last 20 years of his life. The conference was concluded with the Stanislaw Musial Award ceremony. Among other speakers were: Rev. Prof. John Pawlikowski (Catholic Theological Union, Chicago; Emeritus President of the International Council of Christians and Jews), Rev. Prof. Tomáš Halík (Charles University, Prague; President of the Czech Christian Academy), Lucia Faltin (University of Cambridge, Centre for the Study of Jewish-Christian Relations), Prof. Karol Musioł (Rector of the Jagiellonian University; President of the Jury of the Musial Awrad), Prof. Jacek Majchrowski (President of Krakow; Co-President of the Jury of the Musial Award), Tadeusz Jakubowicz (President of the Krakow Jewish Community), Rabbi Michael Schudrich (The Chief Rabbi of Poland),  Prof. Ludwik Grzebien SJ (Rector of Ignatianum), Dr Adam Zak SJ (Assistant for Central and Eastern Europe to the Superior General of the Jesuits).
